Once through the grand entrance to Charters, you will be struck by the avenue of Green Oak trees that line the driveway. Home to over 300 trees, the 22 acres which make up the estate exhibit a carefully managed planting scheme from native to non-native and the exotic. A favourite feature of the Estate is the magnificent old Blue Cedar trees. Standing tall and addressing the driveway to the mansion these magnificent specimens are over 100 years old.

As part of the original development ten years ago Charters underwent an extensive new tree planting scheme to supplement and reinforce the existing trees. These new trees now not only enhance the views but reinforce the feeling of privacy and seclusion.

Each woodland area has its own pathway, allowing residents to wander through and enjoy the beauty the grounds have to offer such as Rhododendrons, Azaleas and Acers to name a few. Autumn is a particularly special time as the variety of foliage displays a colourful contrast to the rest of the year complementing the estate perfectly.
